Meet the San Diego Team Behind Tilehurst Roofing San Diego
We’re a local San Diego crew that’s spent a lot of years looking at the underside of asphalt shingles and the inside of roof valleys. What ties us together is pretty simple: we like fixing things the right way and we don’t like surprises, especially the kind that show up as a drip on your ceiling six months after a cheap patch job. Every person on this team has worked roofs in this city long enough to know what the Santa Ana winds do to a ridge cap and what the marine layer does to flashing near the coast. We live here too, in Chula Vista, El Cajon, Escondido, Mira Mesa, and Normal Heights, so the roofs we work on belong to people we see at the grocery store.

Our People
Greg Holloway, Owner
Greg started roofing in 2000 and has run Tilehurst Roofing San Diego since day one. He’s the one who answers the phone more often than not, and he’s the one who walks your roof before anyone quotes a number. His specialty is finding what other estimators miss: a scorched section of underlayment near a soil stack, a drip edge that’s pulling away on the north slope, decking that felt spongy underfoot but never made it into the inspection report. Greg’s the reason every job starts with a written price and ends with a written guarantee in your hand before the crew packs up. When he’s not on a roof, he’s fishing off Shelter Island, usually without much to show for it.
Mike R., Lead Technician
Mike has been with Tilehurst Roofing San Diego for eleven years and has installed or repaired just about every roof type you’ll find in the county, from Spanish tile in Rancho Bernardo to flat torch-down roofs in Pacific Beach. He holds manufacturer certifications with GAF and CertainTeed, which matters when a warranty claim comes down to installation details the manufacturer checks with a fine-tooth comb. Mike can read a roof the way a radiologist reads an X-ray, he’ll point to a stain and tell you it’s a nail pop from thermal expansion, not a leak, and he’ll be right. His garage is full of surfboards, and he schedules his days around the tide charts when he can.
Dan C., Senior Installer
Dan joined Tilehurst Roofing San Diego nine years ago after a decade in residential framing, which gives him an eye for the structural side of roofing that most crews don’t have. He’s the one who spots sagging decking or a rafter that needs sistering before the old shingles are even off, and he won’t button up a roof until the sheathing underneath is sound. Dan is our Owens Corning and Atlas certified installer, and he’s the fastest hand with a coil nailer you’ll ever see, but he won’t rush a valley or a sidewall flashing detail. He drinks black coffee by the gallon, coaches his daughter’s soccer team in La Mesa, and can tell you the wind rating of every shingle we stock without looking at the wrapper.
Lisa P., Service Coordinator
Lisa is the voice on the phone when you call to schedule an estimate, and yes, it’s always a live person, because Lisa answers. She’s been with Tilehurst Roofing San Diego for six years and handles scheduling, permits, and the written paperwork that follows every job. Lisa knows San Diego’s permitting process for reroofs in the City of San Diego, plus the quirks of unincorporated county areas like Spring Valley and Lakeside, and she’ll tell you upfront what your project needs and what it doesn’t. Before joining us, she worked in construction supply, which is why she can explain drip edge, underlayment, and ice and water shield without making you feel like you need a translator. She’s the reason your guarantee is printed and in your hands before the crew pulls away, not emailed three weeks later.
Victor M., Apprentice
Victor is in his second year with Tilehurst Roofing San Diego, learning the trade the old way: carrying bundles, cleaning up, watching everything, asking questions. He’s already passed his OSHA 10 and is working toward manufacturer certifications through GAF’s training program. Victor keeps the job site clean, which sounds small until you’ve had a roofing nail end up in a car tire, and he’s becoming a gifted hand with flashing details under Mike’s supervision. He was born in San Diego, grew up in City Heights, and plays bass in a band that practices in his aunt’s garage in Lemon Grove.
One Standard, Every Job
Tilehurst Roofing is part of the Kingswell family of roofing companies, which means every location, including ours in San Diego, operates under the same set of promises. We say the price before the work starts and we put it in writing. We show up in the window we gave. We leave the property cleaner than we found it. We hand you a written guarantee on every repair before the crew leaves. And if a repair fails inside the guarantee period, we come back and fix it at no charge under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. Greg holds the San Diego team to that standard, and the Kingswell Guarantee backs it. The way we see it, a guarantee is only as good as the person who signs it, which is why Greg signs every one himself.
